Information about biofuels and bioenergy in the state of West Virginia in the United States.
West Virginia, with a population of just under two million, is a mountainous state located in the Southern United States. It is a major producer of coal with minor natural gas and petroleum resources. Most farming in West Virginia is on a small scale compared to other parts of the United States and any biofuels will be produced on this same scale. There is hope that biofuel production could help to alleviate significant rural poverty in the state.
