Biofuel production should comply with all local and national laws, including labor laws and recognizing land and water rights. If such legislation does not exist, international norms shall be the reference

Biofuel production should ensure worker well-being, and should not violate fundamental human or labor rights.

Biofuel production should, directly or indirectly, contribute to the social and economic development of producer communities and rural populations
