Issues
Arable land in Portugal is extremely limited in both extent and in the favorability of the climate for growing energy crops. Yields are limited by climate and soil conditions.[1]
News
- Genetically Modified Crops vandalised in Portugal, 24 August 2007, by Checkbiotech. Protesters destroyed more than a hectare of crops and were condemned by the Portuguese President and the Minister of Agriculture.
- Portugal's EDP Bioelectrica to build 7 biomass power plants, 7 July 2006, Biofuel Review. The plants will utilize biomass generated from forestry and will generate 120MW of electricity.
