Idaho is located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, and has a population 1.3 million. Idaho is an important agricultural state, famous for the fact that 1/3 of the United States potato crop is grown there, and much interest in biofuels has been shown in the Gem State.

Policies

March 26, 2007 Governor Otter signed into law the Rural Idaho Economic Development Biofuel Infrastructure, Consumer Choice and Fuel Independence Act of 2007. This legislation provides grants for up to 50% of the costs for Idaho retailers to invest in providing biofuels to their customers. (PDF)
