- Ethiopia: Promoting Bio-Fuel, 3 November 2007 by All Africa: The escalating price of crude oil in the international market has prompted the Ethiopian government to consider the utilization of biofuel.
- Oil companies sign agreement providing for distribution of ethanol-blended petroleum, 21 August 2008, by Ethiopian News Agency: Five oil companies operating in Ethiopia signed an agreement providing for distribution of ethanol-blended petroleum in Ethiopia. According to the agreement, the companies would supply the Nile Petroleum while the latter would distribute the oil by mixing it with ethanol, which constitutes 5 per cent.
- Ethiopia eyes biofuels, says no risk to crops, 9 Jun 2008, from Reuters: Ethiopia said on Monday it planned to produce biofuels to cut high oil import bills, but dismissed fears the strategy could hit food production in a country suffering a severe drought.
- Sale of ethanol-blended petroleum launched 11 October 2008, from the Ethiopian News Agency: The sale of ethanol-blended petroleum was officially launched at the Petroleum Blending Depot in Sululta, outskirts of Addis Ababa on Saturday.
