In 2005, Denali National Park tested a biodiesel system that used waste fish oil to run generators and buses in an attempt to replace fossil fuels. (Federal Agency Biodiesel Collaborative Project Proposal (PDF file)) The project was discontinued when biodiesel accumulated in the generator.
