Andhra Pradesh
- The Government of Andhra Pradesh has proposed jatropha cultivation on 1.5 millions acres over the next 4 years
- The initial target is 200,000 acres
- Jatropha cultivation is to be taken up only on cultivable lands with existing farmers.

- 600,000 jatropha saplings have been planted with the involvement of State's Forest, Agriculture, Panchayat and Rural Development Departments
- They have a target to cover 1 million hectares of land under jatropha plantation by 2012
- The CBDA estimates that as 1 hectare of Jatropha plantation yields 2 tons of biodiesel on an average, a total quantity of 2 million tons of biodiesel will be produced with a value of Rs.5 billion (@Rs.25/- per litre). The plantation would absorb 10 million tons of CO2 and produce 4 million tons of biomanure.
- The present annual consumption of petrodiesel in the Chhattisgarh State is 1 millions tons.
- Plans for planting jatropha on about 100,000 hectares of lands during 2006-2007.
- Ten bio-diesel companies, including the UK-based D1 Oils, have offered to set up jatropha oil-extraction units or to buy the produce from farmers in Chhattisgarh.
