Forest residues
From BioenergyWiki
"Forest residues" typically refers to the tops and branches of trees, or branches that may have fallen to the forest floor. The use of forest residues to create electricity raises concerns about the impact of removing the residues from the forest. "Residues" are an important part of the forest ecosystem, provide habitat, and contribute to soil creation and health. http://www.globalforestcoalition.org/img/userpics/File/briefing%20paper%20bioenergy_final_1.pdf
While the biomass power industry claims that it will burn only "forest residues", research shows that there is not enough "forest residue" to support the biomass incinerators being build around the U.S. http://www.ewg.org/clearcut-disaster
