Public finance
Financing is being provided from a variety of sources, including multilateral and bilateral public institutions.
Multilateral Development Banks

- In 2006, the IDB approved financing for a number of bioenergy-related projects, including an "analysis of the role and potential for biofuels in Central America," an "assessment of the potential for biofuel production from sugar cane in Guyana, Jamaica and Barbados," and an "assessment study of biofuels for transport in Mexico."[1]
