About CII Bio-Energy Summit 2011
In Global Renewable Energy Space, Bio-Energy is fast emerging as a cost effective and preferred renewable energy option. The role & contribution of Bio-Energy in addressing India’s climate change and energy security needs, is on the rise and to give a further fillip to this sector, the Government of India is contemplating the launch of Bio-Energy Mission during the 12th Five Year Plan. The amount of emission reduction that can be achieved through bio-energy varies, depending on the choices made from feedstock selection and production to the final use.
With increasing global consciousness and other favorable policies in various nations, India also needs to position it’s Bio–Energy strategy in the global arena with special reference to Technologies and Investment.
With the objective of sensitising key stakeholders in the Government and the Bio–Energy Industry about a holistic approach covering various end-forms of solids, liquids and gaseous from processing Bio–Resources, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising its annual event Bio–Energy Summit 2011 on Tuesday, 29 November 2011 at New Delhi.
The Summit will also deliberate key issues for the Bio–Energy Industry such as biomass supply, financial opportunities, sustainability criteria, certification, various approaches for identifying appropriate Bio–energy friendly policies, adoption of Bio–energy solutions in industry & other sectors and opportunities of collaboration for research & academia in this sector.
