Mitsubishi enters bioethanol manufacturing business. Biofuels International states that "Mitsubishi will become Hokkaido Bioethanol's second largest shareholder!"
Brazil plans to set a national certification for biofuels. "At the end of July Brazil's national certification authority, the National Institute of Meteorology, Standardization and Industrial Quality (INMETRO) held a consultation at their office in Rio de Janeiro on its plan to launch a Brazilian Biofuel Certification Program."
Royal Caribbean Cruises Signs Long-Term Biodiesel Contract with Imperium Renewables! Green Car Congress indicates that "Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. (RCCL) has contracted with Imperium Renewables to buy a minimum of approximately 15 million gallons of biodiesel in 2007".
Biofuels to keep grain prices high!Relayed by Sign on San Diego, the german grain trading house Toepfer International indicates that "the demand for food and animal feed continues to rise, above all in rapidly developing countries including China and India. Hence, all market participants, especially processing companies, must prepare themselves for a long phase of relatively high prices for agricultural commodities".
